The enrollment ceremony of the 2015/2016 academic year at OIST, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University in Onna, was held on Sep. 1st at the university. This also marked the start of the fourth academic year since the school opened.

24 new students from 15 countries are beginning their studies in the 5-year doctoral program at the institute. Currently, the student body of the OIST consists of 82 students in addition to the 24 new ones who entered the schools from this month. As of Aug. 1st, there are 51 teachers and 320 researchers working at the OIST.
