Two U.S. servicemen nabbed for DUI on Sunday

Two U.S. military members were nabbed on suspicion of DUI, Sunday. The incidents occurred in Naha and Ginowan.

In Naha, police arrested 21-year-old Marine Corporal stationed on Camp Hansen. The marine is suspected of driving after drinking on Route 330 in Asato, Naha City, and was reported to a police by a passerby who saw the marine crashing into another car around 3:10 in the morning.

According to Naha Police, the breathalyzer test showed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his breath. The Marine has admitted to the charges.

On the same morning, Ginowan Police arrested 22-year-old Army Private stationed on Torii Station on suspicion of drinking and driving around 5:45 a.m.. A police patrol noticed his erratic driving and sopped him. They suspected he was under influence, and administered a breathalyzer test that showed about three times the legal limit of alcohol in his breath.
