A fire destroyed a 5th floor apartment in a building on Highway 58 in Isa, Ginowan City, Thursday.

The fire started in the top floor apartment of the concrete building about 6 p.m. on Oct. 1st. 12 fire trucks arrived at the scene, and put off the fire after about two hours.

According to Ginowan Fire Department, the 5th floor 78-square -meter apartment burned completely. Residents of the apartment were not home at the time, and no one was injured. There are seven other apartments in the building, and all residents were evacuated while the firefighters battled the blaze.

The fire department and Ginowan police are investigating the cause of the fire. Because of the blaze, one northbound lane on Highway 58 was closed for about two hours causing traffic a jam up to 3 kilometers long.
