Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is sponsoring a concert of baroque music in its restaurant in the OIST main building on Friday, Oct. 30, starting at 19:00.

Admission to the concert is free but reservation on line is required. Reservations have been accepted on the OIST website at http://www.oist.jp/concert starting at 10:00 on Wednesday, Oct. 14th.

The concert is the 19th in the series of concerts OIST organizes in order to offer public high-quality music experiences.

In the concert, Toru Yamamoto, baroque cello and Rieko Miyagi, harpsicord, accompany countertenor Hayato Masuda. Among other pieces, they play Henry Purcell’s “Music for a While,” G.F. Handel’s “Cara speme questo core” and J.S. Bach’s “Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1.”
