A police patrol car urgently heading to an accident site collided with a mini car at an intersection in front of the Okinawa Prefectural Museum in Omoromachi, Naha City, about 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

According to police, the patrol car hit the mini car when it entered the intersection against the red traffic light at a speed of about 20 kph. The patrol car had its siren and red warning lights on when the accident occurred.

A 24-year-old woman driving the mini car suffered bruises on her stomach. A police officer in his 20’s driving the patrol car, and another officer in his 40’s on the passenger seat, were not injured.
