Nago, Nishihara HS’s take marching championships

The 43rd Japan Marching Band Association National Championship finals took place at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture on, Dec. 20th.

Nago High School won the championship in the ‘small organized team’ category, while Nishihara High School took the honors in the ‘mid-size organized team’ high school category. That means both won the highest award in the departmental category.

Only one high school will be selected as the winner for the departmental highest award among all of the high school teams that won gold prizes. In the high school category, 33 groups across the country participated in the championship contest. 13 teams out of the 33 groups competed for the award in the category of the ‘small organized team,’ and another 13 groups competed for the best team among the ‘mid-size organized teams.’’

In the general category of ‘small designated’ team,’ Ishigaki Crown Eagle Marching Band won the second highest award, the silver prize.

The 21st Super Marching 2015 event will take place on 26th at the Prefectural Budokan in Naha City and 13 teams, which participated in the national championships will show their performance in front of the Okinawa audience.
