This gift giving season say it with jewelry
As the ‘jingle bell, jingle bell’ sounds are ringing throughout the cities, towns and villages from just about every shop, small and large alike, and people are getting excited about Christmas and the New Year holidays, it’s also the time to think about gifts and presents to your sweetheart, partner and members of your family. A good gift is something that lasts a long time and reminds the receiver about the person who gave the gift, preferably every day for a long time.
Jewelry is forever, and Teruya Jewelry is one of the best places on Okinawa to get a special gift the receiver will keep close to her or his heart. Teruya Jewelry is located on Highway 58 in the Hamby area in Chatan, just outside of Camp Foster, and is one of the best-known veteran jewelers on Okinawa.
The penchant to go for an extra mile to sure the gift meets all customer’s needs and desires is what sets Teruya Jewelry apart from other jewelers. Store owner Hideyuki Teruya says that he and his staff are well aware that, “Okinawa is becoming an international island and we now see more and more foreign customers who come from everywhere in the world walking through our doors.” Sure, he likes to make sales, but he is equally concerned that, “We must honestly welcome every customer, ask what they really need and then be ready to deliver.”
Teruya has prepared an impressive selection of wedding and engagement rings, necklaces, earrings, pearls and precious metal items for Christmas gifts. He says that in his shop, “Its’ also possible to melt old jewelry and use the metal and stones to make a brand new items.” So, his suggestion is, “Why not make your own special jewelry for a Christmas present to that special person with the help of Teruya Jewelry?
The shop also offers custom services, including accepting original jewelry designs. He and his staff pride themselves on being able to satisfy most, if not all, customers who walk through the shop doors.
The services include cleaning of jewelry, checking settings and stones, and aftercare, where his artisans are in the shop resize and repair jewelry, clean it, and fix loose or replace fallen out pieces. “We welcome customers to bring in any jewelry, even they bought it overseas or from another jewelry store,” Teruya assures.
Teruya Jewelry is located at 1-1-4 Kitamae, Chatan-cho Okinawa. The store accepts Yen, Dollars and major credit cards. The store is open 10:00 – 20:00 daily. Free parking is available just in front of the shop.
