Asia’s largest cruise ship to run China-Okinawa route

Dream Cruise Co., a new cruise line company, based in Hong Kong and launched last December, is planning to open a regular route with a new cruise liner linking Guangzhou in China and Hirara and Naha ports.

The Dream Cruise Co. is especially targeting wealthy customers, and their new cruise liner “Genting Dream” is scheduled to begin to ply the route in 2017.

According to the plan, the ship is scheduled to run from Guangzhou, China, to Hirara Port on Miyako Island every Tuesday and continue to Naha Port arriving on Wednesdays. The schedule will start from April 2017. The ship is expected to make 26 port calls to both Hirara and Naha, over the period of six months from April through September 2017.

Dream Cruise Co. is a maritime cruise company managed by Genting Hong Kong Co. that operates entertainment businesses and owns Star Cruise Co. The Genting Dream is currently under construction on a German shipyard with the delivery scheduled for Nov. 2016. Once it enters service, it will be the largest cruise liner in Asia at 150,000 tons. It will have a capacity of 3,360 passengers in 1,694 cabins.
