King’s Tsuyama sidelined with facial injury

The Ryukyu Golden Kings guard Shota Tsuyama broke his right orbital floor in the game against Takamatsu Five Arrows at Okinawa City Gymnasium on Sunday.

According to Golden Kings’ officials, Tsuyama suffered the injury at the end of the game then the play was on overtime in the hard-fought match.

Doctors say the injury requires 4 to 6 weeks to heal. They also say Tsuyama needs to undergo a surgery. Tsuyama issued a comment through team officials, stating, “Although I will not play in matches for a while, I will try to make a quick recovery, and will prepare make a contribution to future games as a part of the Kings’ team.”
