Teresa Lu of Taiwan repeats Daikin Orchid win
The final round of the 29th Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament took place at Ryukyu Golf Club in Nanjo City on Sunday.
Teresa Lu of Taiwan, the defending winner of the last year’s tournament, won the four-day tournament for the second year in a row. She became the first player in the tournament history to score consecutive wins.
Lu started the final day on the 6,649-yerd par 72 course on the second place, and finished with a total eight under par. The win earned her ¥21.6 million yen.
On the second place was Ritsuko Ryu three strokes behind. Yukari Nishiyama, Ayaka Matsumori and Jiyai Shin of Korea shared the third place with four under par.
The top money winner on the JLPGA tour last year, Bo-Mee Lee of Korea finished on the 6th place with 2 under par. The best among Okinawan players was Miki Uehara on the 19th place with 4 over par.
17-year-old high school girl Hina Arakaki from Okinawa, the only amateur player to make the cut, finished on the 35th place with a total of 8 over par that won her the Best Amateur title for the fourth consecutive year.
