Facilities offer free entry for kids during Golden Week
May 5th through 11th is the “Welfare Week for Kids” in Japan, and its aim is to think and support children’s healthy growth and development. In addition to the government, also companies, local communities and all of social environment is expected to participate.
The week also includes the ‘Golden Week,’ and many sightseeing spots and theme parks allow free entry for kids during the week. Below is a list of participating facilities on Okinawa.
Okinawa Peace Memorial Park in Itoman has free entry to its pay-facilities for children under 18 years of age on May 5th.
Free glass bottom boat rides and entry to the Underwater Observatory Tower in Busena Marine Park in Nago for kids under 12 years of age on May 5th.
Free entry to the Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters in Tomigusuku for children under 12 on May 5th.
Free entry Okinawa Zoo in Okinawa City for kids under 12 from Apr. 29th through May 5th, except on May 2nd.
Free entry to Ryukyu Mura in Onna Village for kids under 12 from May 6th through 11th.
Free entry to Murasaki Mura in Yomitan for kids under 12 from May 6th through 8th.
Free entry to Okinawa World in Nanjo City for kids under 12 from May 6th through 11th.
Free entry to Churaumi Aquarium and Tropical Dream Center at Expo Park, Motobu, for children under 15 years of age on May 5th.
