Resident injured as fire burns down house
An elderly woman in her 70’s was injured when a wooden house she was living in the Mihara district of Naha City burned down Monday afternoon.
According to Naha Fire Department officials, the woman was taken to a hospital, is conscious and has no life threatening injuries. According to witnesses, two big explosions were heard from the house before thick black smoke started rising up. Naha police are investigating the cause.
A neighbor found the woman lying by the door of the burning house, and with the help of another neighbor pulled her to safety.
