Marlin tournament slated for Yonagaguni
The 27th Japan International Marlin Fishing Tournament will be held Jul. 1st through 3rd at Kubera Port on Yonaguni Island, the westernmost island of Japan, organizers of the annual competition announced Apr. 20th.
Participation applications are accepted from May 2nd through June 3td on the official home page of Yonaguni Town at http://welcome-yonaguni.jp/fishing/ Organizers say they have already received inquiries to enter from China.
The tournament will be held on Jul. 2nd and 3rd. The contest starts 07:00 for trolling, and 09:00 for surf fishing. In addition to the fishing tournament, a bullfighting tournament will be held on the island on the first day of the festival, and a friendship exchange event with entertainment will take place on the same day in the town starting 19:00. A fireworks show will end the event on the final day.
