Okinawa City police arrested a part-time Prefectural Government employee on suspicion of DUI on Jun. 3rd.

Police say 44-year-old Morihito Maekawa was apprehended in the morning of Jun. 3rd in the Moromizato district of Okinawa City after he crashed his car into the rear of a car in front of him. An officer of the police patrol that came to investigate the accident, smelled alcohol in Maekawa’s breath. A breathalyzer test taken at the scene showed 2.3 times the legal limit of alcohol in Maekawa’s breath.

Maekawa also initially told officers who arrested him that he was unemployed at the time, ostensibly to hide his arrest from his employer.
