Prison guard suspended for stealing prepaid pachinko card

Okinawa prison announced Jun. 17th that a male guard of the prison has been suspended for two months as a disciplinary action after he was found to have stolen a prepaid pachinko card at a pachinko parlor in Naha.

According to officials at the prison, the guard took the card, which another customer had left on a game machine, and changed it to about ¥9,500 in cash last December. The man said he had lost a lot of money playing pachinko and slot machines, and thought no one would track the pachinko card that some other player had obviously misplaced or forgotten.
