A local community broadcaster Ginowan FM opened a satellite studio on the Tropical Beach in the Ginowan Seaside Park on Saturday. The facility will stay open until the end of October, broadcasting “summer songs for the beach.”

The programs are aired on the beach via loudspeakers. Radio listeners can tune to FM 79.7 MHz and they are also streamed on the Internet.

Ichiro Yamauchi, the president and CEO of Ginowan FM, says, “A local community radio should serve its local people, so I thought it’s proper to broadcast news about Ginowan from the Tropical Beach, which is very popular among locals.”

The satellite studio starts broadcasting its programs at 3 or 4 in the afternoon everyday, and Yamauchi welcomes walk-in participants and music requests.

But first of all he hopes many people would tune in to their programs.
