Marine arrested on suspicion of assault resulting in injury
A U.S. Marine was arrested on suspicion of an assault causing an injury on Sunday evening at a bar in Chatan.
According to Okinawa City Police, 22-year-old Cpl. James Lewis Mackey stationed at MCAS Futenma, was arrested after he allegedly threw a drink glass at a 26-year-old part time bar employee injuring him in the head.
Another employee at the restaurant called the police, and Mackey was arrested on the spot. He was reportedly drunk when he was arrested, and claimed first he didn’t remember the incident. Police say he then admitted to the allegation, and wanted to apologize.
