A 18-year-old motorcyclist lost control and crashed into a tree on prefectural road 110 in Untenbaru, Nago, on Aug. 8th.

According to Nago Police, Shinya Sakiyama, a building maintenance worker, crashed his motorbike into a tree in a road curve about 22:40 on Monday. He suffered heavy head and neck injuries in the crash, and was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead shortly after midnight.

According to Nago Police, the accident occurred on a single lane road that at the site of the accident curves to the left. They suspect that, as Sakiyama was driving from Sumuide towards Gabu, he for an unknown reason failed to negotiate the curve, strayed onto the opposite lane and ran off the tree-lined road.
