Cruise liner brings 2,000 passengers to Toguchi Port
A Hong Kong based Star Cruises’ cruise ship Super Star Virgo entered Toguchi Port in Motobu, Wednesday, marking the first time a cruise liner has made a call at Toguchi Port.
The 75,338-ton ship had about 2,000 passengers onboard. Some 1,200 of them took part in six organized tours, including tours to Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, Nakijin Castle ruins in Nakijin Village, Okuma Beach in Kunigami, and the Pineapple Park in Nago. Another 800 passengers explored the northern part of the island on their own.
A passenger from Malaysia said that it was his first trip to Okinawa, and he had searched information about Okinawa’s sightseeing spots in advance, and was looking forward to go see them.
Super Star Virgo is scheduled to call Toguchi Port every Wednesday during September.
