Hapinaha is an entertainment emporium on Kokusai Street in Naha that has it all. It’s a place where people of any age can play and shop at its many specialty stores, and when the lunch or dinnertime comes by, they have restaurants that offer delicious meals at very reasonable bargain prices.

Hapinaha is located almost at the midpoint of Kokusai Street in Naha, in the building that formerly housed Mitsukoshi Department Store, and is in the part of the city that is especially popular among tourists. On Sunday afternoons the whole street is closed for vehicle traffic and features groups of street performers and playgrounds for kids.

Hapinaha has the only specialized Pokemon store on Okinawa. The store has plenty of Pokemon goods including Pikachu wear, and it sells limited edition Okinawan Kariyushi wear only available at the Hapinaha store.

Workshops to make ‘Hai chu’ and ‘Bakauke osenbei’ (rice crackers) are popular in mainland cities and in Okinawa only at Hapinaha. The workshops are suitable for visitors of any age.

Hello Kitty goods are perennial favorites loved by girls of any age, One-piece goods, Japanese souvenirs. Nippon Art facemasks would make unique souvenirs or Christmas gifts for those who seemingly have everything.

The facility also includes a theater, ‘Yoshimoto Okinawa Kagetsu’ that features daily stand-up comedy shows.

People who purchase over ¥3,000 worth of goods at Hapinaha can enter into a drum raffle, in which one wins a surprise prize, such as a stuffed character doll. The prize depends on the color of a ball dropped from the hole of the raffle drum, but the player won’t know what he or she wins until seeing what color the ball is. Participants must show a receipt of their purchase before trying. The raffle runs every day through Dec. 25th.
