Kings Sink the Dolphins at the Buzzer

The Golden Kings, currently 5th place in the Western Conference, matched up against 2nd place Nagoya Diamond Dolphins on Wednesday in Nagoya. Kings’ captain, Ryuichi Kishimoto, set the tone early with 10 points in the 1st quarter. The offense also got strong first half contributions from Reyshawn Terry and Shuhei Kitagawa, giving the Kings a 13-point lead at half. Terry finished the game with a team high 23 points, shooting 8 of 9 from the field.

The Dolphins clawed back in the 2nd half and eventually took a one-point lead late in the 4th quarter. However, late in the game with just 5 seconds on the clock, the Kings’ Lamont Hamilton drilled a game winning three-pointer. The Kings took the victory 77-55. After the game, Kings’ head coach Tsutomu Isa said, “This is much more than just a win on the scoreboard, this was a hard fought emotional victory and should give us a much needed boost in confidence moving forward.”
