Jasmine was the first Thai-owned and managed salon offering authentic traditional Thai massages with Thai masseuses on Okinawa with a concept operators called ‘Truly Thai.’ It opened its doors in 2004, and since then Jasmine has pampered many customers from in and out of Okinawa making them feel like they truly are in the Southeast Asian nation enjoying a relaxation session of a Truly Thai massage. “It is more than a massage,” says Jasmine owner Pranee explaining it as an integral part of Thai culture thought to date back more than 2,000 years. Thai massage stimulates and enhances the flow of life energy that taps into ten major lines running through the entire body known as ‘Sen Lines’. They’re the principal elements of 72,000 channels or streams of invisible life energy lines that surge through the body.
Customers will get their feet washed in herbal scented water before slipping into loose fitting pajamas for the massage. A typical Thai massage takes two hours or more, although Jasmine also offers shorter sessions of 60 and 90 minutes.

Thai massage begins from the tips of your toes and gradually moves upward to the top of your head by following the Sen energy lines of the body. The massage focuses on circulation and pressure points, promoting increased blood and lymph circulation through pressure and gentle stretching of muscles. It is an ideal way to ease stress and stiff muscles after exercise, sports or even spending too much time facing a computer. The effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing. After the massage, the body will feel much lighter and energized than before.

Pranee and other masseuses at Jasmine are graduates of the famous Wat Po Thai Traditional Medical School in Bangkok. Pranee is qualified in traditional Thai massage, and in oil massage and aromatherapy arts as well. As with most Thai massage parlors in Thailand, ornate curtains are used to form private rooms for both Thai and oil massages.
