Ginowan Police sent papers concerning a criminal case against 43-year-old Asaka Higa to Naha District Public Prosecutors Office on Monday. Higa is suspected of cheating a total of ¥21,9 million yen from her friends and acquaintances.

According to Ginowan Police, Higa had been involved in a traffic accident before, and she pretended that she had a lawsuit concerning the accident in the process in the court. She had asked money from her friends and acquaintances to cover the supposed court costs, which she would pay back after receiving a huge settlement that was coming to her.
