Gusuku Road Park in Nanjo gets facelift
A popular outing spot, especially for families with children, the Gusuku Road Park in Tamagusuku, Nanjo City, has undergone a facelift. A ceremony was held to mark the occasion on April 27th.
The park was originally opened in March 1998, and quickly gained popularity among families with children because of its variety of playground equipment.
However, the equipment had deteriorated, and Nanjo municipal office started its repair work in 2015. They separated the playground area according to target age, and they set a long slide and other equipment for small kids in a marked area.
The basketball court and lawns were also repaired. The total cost of the renovations was ¥144 million.
Nanjo Mayor Keishun Koja stated at the ceremony, “The new playground equipment is safe and clean. We look forward to having as many families as possible enjoy it.”
