Japan’s best bakery opens branch in Omoromachi
“Nogami,” a store famous of its white bread regarded as the best in Japan and luxury in a class of its own, opened its first Okinawa branch store Wednesday in Omoromachi, Naha City.
Nogami Hanare Okinawa Omoromachi Store is the official name of the first branch in Okinawa. Nogami does not use any eggs when making the dough, but use the finest wheat flower from Canada and butter as the basic ingredients for its bread. The bakery recommends its white bread should be eaten without toasting. Last year, the bakery received the gold prize in the Bread of The Year 2016 from “Pansta,” a website specializing in bread.
Nogami has 52 branch stores in Japan. In its Okinawa branch, a loaf of white bread costs ¥432 including tax.
