Ippei Kagawa, a 41-year-old restaurant worker from Motobu Town, fell about 20 meters to his death into Ta waterfall in Tsuha, Ogimi Village, about noon Thursday.

He was taken to a hospital in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest, here he was confirmed dead the same day afternoon. Okinawa Prefecture Police investigating the accident suspects he likely slipped and fell over the edge. The investigation into the details of the accident continues.

Police say, Kagawa was visiting the falls with three of his acquaintances. The three first went to the basin of the falls, and then they climbed up the cliff to the top of the waterfall to looked down to the basin.
