The history of the Ryukyu Kings animation movies are now available on YouTube. The movies were created by Urasoe Tourism Association “Urasoe Navi”. The movies offer English and Chinese subtitles for your convenience.

The movies feature King Shunten, who is the first king of the Shunten dynasty of Ryukyu (1187-1259), King Eiso who is the first king of the Eiso dynasty (1259-1349) and King Satto who is the first king of the Satto dynasty (1350-1405) all of these Kings were from Urasoe.

Since that time, Urasoe has been famous as the birthplace of these 3 kings. These three kings all lived at the Urasoe Castle. This castle is also famous because it was featured as the movie location for Hacksaw Ridge.
