Urasoe City Police have a search in progress for a red automobile they believe was involved in a hit-and-run accident in the city’s Nishihara district at 7:30 a.m. last Saturday.

The car, a Suzuki Chevrolet Cruze, was driving on Highway 330 when it struck a 53-year-old cleaner who was sweeping alongside the roadway.  After hitting the man, the car fled toward Ginowan.

The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken right leg.  He’s now hospitalized.
