Great Okinawa Trade Fair 2014 deemed success

The planning committee of the Great Okinawa Trade Fair 2014 that took place last November at Okinawa Convention Center and Ginowan City Gymnasium, held a meeting, on Feb. 4th, and was presented a report based on a survey among participating companies.

According to the report, 16.2% of participating companies concluded or are expecting to conclude contracts as a result of their participation. The contracts amount to a total of ¥68.67 million, which is 2.7 times the value of contracts in a pre-fair that was organized earlier.

The trade fair took place over two days on Nov. 27th and 28th last year.  200 companies took part in the fair, including 114 companies from outside of the island. 176 buyers representing 99 overseas companies participated, and about 1,900 business meetings were held during the two days.

Masatoshi Asato, the chief of the office of the planning committee said, “Made in Japan products are very popular among overseas companies. We can expect more successful results from an active approach.”

The planning committee is scheduled to hold the second trade fair November 26th and 27th this year.
