The 26th Kyoto Exhibition featuring 60 long-established stores from Kyoto opens at Ryubo Department Store in Naha until Nov. 13th.

Of the 60 stores taking part in the exhibition, 37 food-related, selling lunch boxes of traditional Kyoto cuisine and Japanese “wagashi” sweets. 23 stores sell traditional crafts.

A special product, first time in Okinawa, is “maccha”, green tea from Kyoto. Products made using maccha include sweets and soaps. Ippodo, a long-established teashop in Kyoto, brings for sale “Kitano Mukashi”, a special maccha tea usually sold only in Kyoto.
