Naha Police arrested a 22-year-old Marine on suspicion of theft, Saturday.

According to investigators, Marine Cpl. Sebastian Knopka is suspected of shoplifting a necklace worth about ¥20,000 at an accessory shop in Matsuo, Naha City, Saturday afternoon.

A store clerk found him pocketing the necklace and called the police. Knopka has denied the charge, and says that he expected to pay for the necklace later.
