“The 34^th Peaceful Love Rock Festival 2017”, an icon in Okinawa’s rock scene sponsored by its executive committee, co-sponsored by Okinawa City and Okinawa City Tourism Association, is the largest music festival in the prefecture.

The annual event takes place on a special stage on the 1st floor of Koza Music Town in Okinawa City, starting at noon on Saturday. This year, the festival takes a new format. Admission to the event is free, and it’s held in one day.

What has not changed is that iconic bands that built the legend of Okinawan Rock share the stage with young independent label bands. With the new format, organizers aim to give the festival a rejuvenated start as a city festival attractive to all generations.

The event will take place on two stages – one is named “Hiroba Stage” while the second is called “Gajumaru Stage.” The bands will play alternately on each stage.

Another new feature starting this year is live video streaming of the festival on YouTube.

Admission to the event is free.
