A 46-year-old Naha City company employee is out ¥40,000 cash after a thief snatched his wallet from behind as he walked down a city road in the Asato district last weekend.

The victim was not injured during the incident.  The pickpocket fled to the Sakaemachi market area. Naha Police say a search is under way for the thief.

The thief is described as in his 20’s, 160~165cm tall, wearing denim half pants and a violet polo shirt.
