Naha man arrested, charged with embezzling ¥1 million
An unemployed 55—year-old Naha City man has been arrested and is being investigated on charges he embezzled at least ¥1 million from his former employee.
Hiroyuki Kayama, was a duty chief at a travel agency at the time the money went missing. Police made their arrest October 18th.
Naha Police investigators say the ¥1 million figure is misleading, because that’s only the latest embezzlement charge he’s facing. They say Kayama earlier stole at least ¥13.8 million from the agency. Police are investigating both cases.
