This week’s winner
Juli Gosler won a pair of tickets to the Chatan Sunset Luau in this week’s JU raffle. The Luau that is organized by Chatan Chamber of Commerce, is happening this weekend at Chatan’s Sunset Beach in Mihama.
Juli has lived on Okinawa three years, and says she has no plans to leave the island anytime soon but is staying here indefinitely. She is originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, which she describes as “a very busy and populated place.”
She likes her life on Okinawa, and says she has adjusted to the pace of Okinawan lifestyle very well. Her favorite local foods are sushi and teppanyaki-style cooking. “I also appreciate local traditional dance and taiko-drum performances . I try to see them as often as I can,” she says.
In the future, she would like to visit as many places in Japan as possible. “It’s so different and interesting to me. I want to go everywhere, both here in Okinawa and places in mainland Japan, too,” she says.
