Civilian contractor arrested for having knife

Ishikawa police arrested a self-employed male civilian contractor of the military living Kin district of Kin Town, 42-year-old Steven Aaron Sepian, Nov. 17, on a charge of violating the Firearm and Sword Control Law. The police say Sepian had a jack knife with a 9 cm blade with him without a sufficient reason.

According to the police, Sepian denies a part of the charge claiming “I have the knife to use when I’m eating a meal.”

According to the police, a local resident called at 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 17 reporting that “A drunk foreign man is loitering around stripped to the waist.” A police officer who came to check the scene questioned to Sepian, and arrested him because he had a knife.

Sepian was drunk at the time of the incident.
