Restaurant robbery at Hiyane
A man pointed a knife at a male staff at a restaurant in Hiyane district of Okinawa City 5 a.m., and threatened him saying “I will stab you if you don’t give me all the money in the register.” He then took about ¥120,000 cash, and ran away.
The restaurant worker was not injured.
Okinawa police are investigating the robbery.
According to the police, the culprit looked to be in his 20’s ~ 30’s, is about 170 cm tall, wore blue coveralls, hid his face by sunglasses and mask, and had on a cap.
According to police investigators, the staffer was counting the night’s proceeds when the robber pulled the knife and threatened him.
Some customers were in the restaurant at that time.
