Naha Police conducted a crackdown on illegal touts in Matsuyama entertainment district, Dec. 7, ahead of the expected year-end revelry in the area.

The move covered bars, snacks and adult entertainment businesses in the area. About 30 police officers took part in the raid entering tens of establishments from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and checking that the operators had valid business licenses. A police spokesman said that those businesses that were found to have deficiencies were given a timeline to clear up their act.

The police also appealed to area business operators to help in prevention of crime and accidents, and cooperation in gathering information on illegal activities.
