Okinawa Prefectural Police nabbed a firefighter from Okinawa City Fire Department Headquarters on charges of DUI on Dec. 10. The incident came to light during a city assembly meeting on Dec. 21.

According to Okinawa City officias, the man drunk alcohol with his friend at an Izakaya and a karaoke shop in Hiyane district of the city during the evening and until early morning hours of Dec. 10, and after that he drove a car and was stopped by a patrol of the Okinawa Prefectural Police.

The man explains that he drove the car because he was searching for a daiko substitute driver as the reason.
