Alisa McLeish is the lucky person who won a pair of tickets to a Ryukyu Golden Kings basketball match in last week’s JU raffle.

Alisa is from Washington DC, and has lived on Okinawa one and half years. She is looking forward to leaving Okinawa in September 2014, but is enjoying her life here in the meantime.

She is especially impressed with then people here and local culture. “People on this island are so friendly and helpful. Their culture and traditions are also very interesting,” she says.

Her two favorite dishes are Goya Champuru and Butterfried Fish. “Both are so good that I could eat them every day and never get too much,” she says.

She also likes to visit local restaurants and sighseeing spots. At this time she is especially interested in exploring Nago and surrounding areas, and also making discoveries in Naha;s Kokusai Street area.
