Characters from comic books and manga will swarm in Mihama Depot Island area next weekend.

It’s an exposition in which anime lovers and costume lovers go into disguise as anime characters, and entertain Mihama crowds as the 3^rd Mihama Manga Mega Expo.

The event space at Depot Island Mihama’s the venue for this free expo Friday, March 29^th from 4 p.m. ~ 8 p.m., and again on Saturday the 30^th from 2 p.m. ~ 7:30 p.m.  The event was so successful in March and August last year, the event has been coined by the event name MMM among Mihama businesses and patrons.

In the Mihama area, talk about disguise leads to a ‘Halloween Party in Mihama’ in winter and ‘MMM’ in summer.  Surprising few, MMM ver. 3 has upgraded in scale and content since last summer, and is now being held during spring vacation.

A flea market in the event space takes place until 10 p.m. on Friday the 29^th, going right along with the anime song DJ battle, a dance show, an exhibition of vehicles in which characters of manga are printed, and a music live program.  The music, dance and vehicle show run both days.

The Cosplayers meeting is an opportunity for visitors to dress up in all sorts of costumes to participate in activities or just watch, begins at 2 p.m. in the event space. Japanese Manga culture is popular, and organizers invite first time cosplayers, student cosplayers and foreigner cosplayers to interact, taking pictures together and enjoying costume play. What to wear, whether it’s an anime suit, Gothic & Lolita, a loud style, simple anime, game figures, manga, OTAKU or even disguises are all welcome.
