Hawaiian Festival brings ukulele, leis and hula
Little grass skirts, the hula and ukulele-powered music comes to the floor of the Ginowan Convention Center Monday the 29th.
Admission is free for the Hawaiian Festival organized by Leinani group, which was originally created to promote hula and ukulele music in Okinawa. Doors open at 2 p.m. for the show, which begins at 2:30 p.m.
The Leinani group put power into expansion of a studio culture circle, in order to extend the base of Hawaiian hula and the Hawaiian music. Fortunately, the leaders grew up and the students belonging to this group became 1,000 or more at present. There are eight studios in Okinawa Prefecture, and it has participated in many events of Okinawa still now. The important theme of this event is “E HO’OLUANA ME LEINANI, Let’s enjoy with Leinani” and enjoying all together.
Performances of music using an ukulele and performances of hula will be the festival. Besides it, there are opening various shops such as the food court where sells the kebab of Jimmy’s, Hawaiian shop in which visitors can purchase the miscellaneous goods of Hawaii, and an ukulele at the hall. The visitor who visited in this event in which 1000 or more persons participate can experience the feeling of Hawaii.
