Motobu police arrested 39-year-old Masayoshi Nakamura on suspicion of breaking into a house, and a violent altercation, Sunday, in Ie Village on Ie Island.

Police investigators say he is accused of breaking into his ex wife’s sister’s house brandishing a knife, and threatening his ex wife who was staying in the house.

Nakamura allegedly broke a window to get into the house where six people were present at the time. All ran away after they noticed the man breaking in, but he managed to punch his ex wife on stomach causing a bruise. He then locked himself in the house for a while, set a blanket on fire, and ran away. Police, who were called to the scene, arrested him shortly afterwards.
