Drunk serviceman breaks into shop, runs away in taxi

A U.S. military man, supposedly an Army serviceman, broke a glass door and entered a shop about 6 a.m., on June 21, in Chatan, and once inside, went on a rampage breaking several items. The man then got into a taxi with another man who had rushed to the scene, and rode away.

According to the owner of the shop, he found a pair of pants on the shop floor that the drunk man had taken off. There also was a wallet in a pocket of the pants with an American military I.D. inside identifying the cardholder as an Army serviceman.

According to the owner, the man looked very drunk, and Okinawa City Police is looking for him on suspicion of damaging property.

The shop owner said that he had heard the sound of the glass crashing around 6 a.m., went to investigate and called the police. After a short time, two other foreigners rushed to the scene, and the man who had broken the glass along with one of the two, ran away and got into a taxi while the third man talked to the building owner.

And then the police found him (çause he left his i.d. behind) and he denied everything. Right? The Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Well, in Japan the excuse “I was drunk” seems to permit many things which would otherwise not be allowable. Oh you were drunk? Oh, okay then (we’ve all been there)…when it comes to prosecution.

  K. first of all.. “I was Drunk” gets you nowhere in Japan. You know how i know? Because i live here and have to put up with all the consequences of those people “who were drunk”.. so its not just a pat on the freakin back.

  Actually i used to be in that unit and no, it’s not allowable. If in the event he doesn’t get sent to Japanese prison he’ll most likely
  
  A: lose all rank and pay and get sent to military prison and then get kicked out of the military with a dishonorable discharge (equivalent to a felony)
  
  B: lose all rank and be sentenced to work 45 days of work from 6am to somewhere between 12 and 2 am and then get kicked out
  
  or
  
  C: lose all rank and be sentenced to work 45 days of work from 6am to somewhere between 12 and 2 am and be on his commander sh** detail list
  
  no matter what happens at the very least he’ll have to go through a mandatory alcohol and substance abuse training program and most likely be barred from re-enlisting as well as massive criticism and (illegal) hazing from fellow soldiers

Surprised this has not caused protests!
But this guy must have been REALLY drunk to leave his pants and wallet behind,and he is said to have got in the taxi with another guy??So 2 guys walk back to the barracks one minus pants…oh sorry that kind of thing is allowed now!
