Yomitan man arrested on suspicion of killing wife

Kadena Police has arrested a man working as an indoor handyman in Yomitan Village on suspicion of killing his wife on July 6th. The man has admitted that he killed her, but investigators say he has not been coherent when he talks about the killing. Police are still investigating him.

According to Kadena Police, a custodian of an apartment building called police in the evening of June 5th to report that one of the apartments seem to have an air conditioner on although nobody appears to have been in the apartment room for a couple of days, and there was no answer when he knocked on the door.

When a police officer and the custodian entered the room using a spare key, they found two people lying down on the floor. The wife was already dead, and the man was sleeping near her speaking unintelligible words. There were no signs of fighting in the premises.

Police asked the man to come voluntarily to the police station, where he admitted to killing her. The wife seems to have died on July 3rd, and police is investigating the cause of her death.

The couple was reportedly living together in the apartment that is located in a quiet residential area.
