Joy Froio from Glendale, AZ, is the lucky winner of the week’s JU raffle. She won a pair of tickets to the Yubikiri Horror House currently open in Ashibinaa Outlet Mall that is sure to put chills down in anybody’s spine. And that’s just what the current heat wave calls for.

Joy and her family have lived on Okinawa two and half years, and are scheduled to stay until July 2014.  Being from a hot and dry Arizona, she does not mind the heat, but finds Okinawa’s humidity a bit uncomfortable at times.

Her favorite local food is “yakiniku” but the best part of Okinawa is the beaches.

Before moving on she would like to visit Cape Hedo at the northernmost tip of the island, and as many of the neighboring islands and the whole Ryukyu chain. She would also like to find tome to go Tokyo and Kyoto in the mainland.

She says that she reads Japan Update regularly as it’s a good source of local news that she can’t get from anywhere else. But she would like to find places out in town where she could take her dog to play.
