Ganju Corporation of Yomitan Village is developing new beauty products using pig placenta.

According to Ganju Co. President Seiichiro Tobaru, until now the placentas were disposed of when piglets were born, but by putting them to use, Todaru says, would lead to a more effective and better utilization of the animal.

On Oct. 1, the company introduced the first product that contains extract of pig’s placenta to the market; a shampoo and a conditioner.

Tobaru said, “I hope the use of the placenta results in higher income to the farmers.” As an ongoing project, the company is developing a moisturizer, sunscreen, shower gel and other products derived from the same source.
