Ospreys join Japan – U.S. Joint Disaster Drill

A pair of MV-22B Ospreys will be participating next week in a joint disaster drill taking place in the Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu areas.

The joint disaster drill is to be conducted between the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military on October 25th.  Authorities say the disaster drill “will be held to examine both the readiness levels and coordination between JSDF, U.S. military, related ministries and local governments with the scenario of a possible Nankai trough earthquake. “

The disaster drill will involve two Ospreys belonging to VMM 262. VMM 262 is stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma here on Okinawa.
