FC Ryukyu to join J3
The Japan Professional Football League, J-League announced on the 19th that Okinawa’s professional soccer team FC Ryukyu has been accepted to join the new division “J3” which will be started from next season.
According to league officials, J3 will start off with 12 clubs. FC Ryukyu personnel and fans waited for the results at the Okinawa City Hall, which is the team’s hometown.
The FC Ryukyu representative Ryo Shimoji received the good news from the J-league main office at 4:36 to the cheer of the fans. The next season will start next March.
