The 12^th Asia Karate Senior Tournament and 13^th Asia Karate Junior & Cadet Tournament were held Dec. 6 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Representing Japan in the men’s senior individual categry was Ryu Kiyuna who won the bronze medal in his class. He beat powerful participants from Iran and Hong Kong but lost 2-3 against a UAE karateka.

After the competition, Kiyuna stated, “In the semifinals, I was unable to mark my opponent, and he beat me with his specialty. I want my domination to be clear to everyone in the future contests.”
